It is a disappointment. The entire area of this CG has been deforested for safety because of a diseased forest. Stumps abound. I can only imagine how pretty the CG was before. A few pics of Peak One CG located at Frisco, CO. Fortunately a reasonable quantity of sites have been exempted from the reservation system, but of course they are the inferior sites.Tags: Frisco CO, Peak One Campground, Summit County CO
Arrived at Peak One primitive CG near Frisco on the Dillon Reservoir. Nice relatively short drive from Denver, day-tripish, except that the mountains were attention-demanding in the Barth.
I stopped at the NFS info center in Dillon to get info about the likely camp grounds for my needs. They were very informative and gave me a good area map. Fortunately a suitable site just became empty before my arrival. Open area due to disease wiping out most of the trees. The reservoir is in sight, but the site is not on the lake. Just as well as I do not have to put up with those pesky fishermen!
I am just a few miles from multiple ski areas, Breckenridge being nearby. I may scoot to some of the ski area villages while here and have some exceptionally expensive and mediocre meals.
Pics later.Tags: Frisco CO, Summit County CO
Annie was treated to walks in the development common area in which there was a dam, trails and paths. Unfortunately Denver was quite warm so Annie could not take long walks. We did get a couple of Celso shots before Tony, Erika, Evan and Jake arrived. It was difficult, but by trapping him to the ground the squirm was minimized.
Annie was kinda odd-dog-out as she 1) does not like kids, and b) is too old to play. But for the most part she was well behaved.Tags: Denver CO, family
