Imperial Valley crops images

There were luscious green fields, extending uninterrupted for a mile or more in every direction. The crop was not discerned, but it might have been winter cover of some kind. But at a few places there were field workers gathering and loading onto trucks, huge tractors and irrigation with fertilization ongoing. Perhaps the crop was asparagus as there was an abundance of it at the Yuma flea market and in Albogones, Mx.

That would have been depicted by a panorama had not the camera been inadvertently adjusted to the wrong setting as it was pulled from the pocket – a common phenomenon.

Bacon lovers beware!

A couple of weeks ago I scooted to Blythe, CA and back, taking much of the day. Upon return it was learned that a fellow parked perhaps 1/2 mile from me decided to have breakfast of bacon, and after putting the bacon on the stove decided to go outside for a moment to chat with the nearby neighbors or some such action.

The net result is depicted in the following two images. I missed all the excitement. No one was injured.

Gives me remembrance of the times I that I have boiled the coffee pot and egg pan dry under similar situations.

Forty-five mi. ride to Lukeville

Today as scoot started away from the camp site, I flagged her down and grabbed a ride. We went to the Organpipe National Monument Visitor Center and onward to the MX border at Lukeville. Forgetting a passport, I did not cross the border.

I did ask about parking at the service station to walk across, for future reference. The attendant said to park it right beside the service station and he could keep an eye on it.

“Hello, Jose? Jesus here. Catch a ride up here, I have an easy mark for you! My usual percentage.”
