I have a few more Qz pics, but they are still in my movie camera, but will eventually end up here.
Camp 2 Windy 2 area pics (Yuma)
Some pictures of the area around camp 2 Wind 2, without commentary. You will see why some were asking “why there?”
The answer is great weather and very cheap ($0.00/day). But if one hates the desert, then you will hate Yuma! Fortunately I have long been acclimated to the constant wind, sand and dust found in the desert. But where else can one be so completely fly-less? No screens required!

Arrival: Camp 2 Windy 2 at Yuma
Arrived Northwest of Yuma. Camped with Gordon and Marlene on Piccacho BLM area at a location I have designated as Camp 2 Windy 2 (…Camp). The winds can at times get to 60+, as Gordon gas previously clocked them as such. Last night ole barth shook and rattled even though the stabilizers are firmly on the desert soil.
A pic of our wagons. We are arranged to provide a location shielded somewhat from the wind and warming in the sun. Presenting Camp 2 Windy 2:
I acknowledge the lack of picture posts. I have a few of Qz and Uma and will post them soon. I tried to put together a short movie at Qz, but it was so lousy I scrapped it.
I can hear fairly well, and Gordon has good eyesight, so together we have been chasing a 6-year old fresh water drip from barth. Seems that we may hhave isolated it. We have tried Magic Mending Tape and waterproff expoxy to stop it without success as yet. Too bbad we are not being paid the typical $100/hour, or we would be rich from two days of work!
Passerbys, water pump
Gordon and Marlene returned from Las vegas today. Gordon and I went to the RV tent show where I bought a new water pump for Barth.
Gordon has foot problems and is trying the Z-Coil spring shoes.
I thought that my water pump was weak. It was not, as the new one works the same. But disassembly of the old one revealed evidence of seal leakage manifested as rusting screws. So it is possible that replacing the punp has also fixed the leak I have been looking for. Fingers are crossed as this leak has been elusive for years.
WHY NO PICTURES? Well, the AZ desert looks the same for hundreds of miles, so nothing changes. But when I get in an area with interesting rocks, trees, clouds or anything, pictures will be included.
The only reason to camp in this area is the nice winter warmth and sun. And of course the cost is free.
